DOCUMENTING THE FORGOTTEN ᣟ𐚁˳ NEWCASTLE BASED URBAN EXPLORATION & VISUAL ARCHIVE

Wangi Wangi Power Station

21 April - 2026, Wangi Wangi

Wangi Wangi Power Station stands as one of Australia’s most iconic industrial relics. Once powering Newcastle and the Hunter region, the abandoned structure now exists as a monument to decay, history and forgotten infrastructure. Through these photographs, I aim to document the scale, atmosphere and remaining traces of a place slowly being reclaimed by time.

Morisset Hospital Ward 21 "The Crim"

12 May - 2026, Morisset

Ward 21, known by many former patients and staff as “The Crim,” remains one of the most infamous sections of Morisset Hospital. Once housing psychiatric patients within the sprawling institution, the ward now sits abandoned, stripped back to concrete, rubble and fragments of its past. These photographs document what remains of a place shaped by decades of mental health history, isolation and decay.

ABOUT ME

I’m Dylan, a Newcastle based creative focused on urban exploration, industrial photography and underground culture. My work documents abandoned spaces, forgotten infrastructure and the raw environments that exist outside everyday attention. Through photography and visual storytelling, I aim to preserve places shaped by history, decay and human presence before they disappear completely.

Outside of photography, I work across multiple areas of the creative industry including DJing, visual design, VJ operation, lighting design and graphic design. From underground events and bush doofs to digital media and live production, my work is heavily inspired by rave culture, industrial aesthetics and immersive visual experiences.
